Online Church for Families: Resources

HEY JOURNEY FAMILIES!

Partnering with parents is our vision. The Family Ministry Team is continuing to partner with you EACH WEEK with online resources, such as helpful parenting articles, conversation guides, weekly Bible Story videos for each age group, daily God Time Cards for kids, and activities you can do together to go along with each week’s lesson!

We update these resources EACH SUNDAY MORNING!

Dear Parent,

You are invited to join our online portal where you can do activities at home with your kids! Click on this link to register and get access.

PARENT COMMISSIONING

Parent Commissioning at Journey is the beginning of a partnership! It is for any new parent, through birth or adoption, with a two-fold purpose: to commemorate the addition of a new child into the family and to empower parents to be the primary faith influencers on their children. In the spirit of Baby Dedication, this is an opportunity to gather friends and family to pray over and celebrate new additions. Yet unlike any other sort of commissioning we do at Journey, a Parent Commissioning is a promise to walk with you as we send you to declare and demonstrate the gospel in your home – your first mission field. Parent Commissioning is something that we would love for every family at Journey to have the opportunity to experience. Unfortunately, space is limited for each time that we do it, so be sure to act quickly!

THE SUNDAY EXPERIENCE

MISSION & VISION

  • Our vision begins at Home, so we want to partner with parents to FUEL the FAITH in the next generation

  • We want to make Journey Days the BEST DAYS in a kid’s week!

  • We cannot do this without YOU! What YOU do matters!

9A

Church-Wide Worship Service: All Ages

  • We want to stop in the midst of the craziness of life, get together, sing to God, read Scripture, and be changed by teaching from the Word. And we want to do that as a family- with all of our families!

  • Journey Kids PreK: Birth - Pre-Kindergarten

    • Check-in and take them straight to their room where they will:

              • Build a familiarity with the overall story of Scripture

              • Introducing children to the life and work of Jesus

              • Initiating caring, supportive relationships

              • Engaging the head, heart, and hands through play, music, and activities

    • Led by once-per-month Serve Teams.

  • Journey Kids: Kindergarten-6th Grade

    • Check-in and go to worship. Kids will get to worship with their families. Kids will then be dismissed before preaching to go to Large Group and learn on their level. After Large Group, kids will go into small group time to break down the story and learn their monthly memory verse. Here is a sample schedule:

              • 9-9:25 Worship as a Family

              • 9:25-9:30 Dismiss and Transition to Large Group

              • 9:30-10 Large Group Time

              • 10-10:15+ Small Group Time

              • 10:20 to10:30 Transition to The 312 Hangout

    • Led by once-per-month Serve Teams.

10:30A

  • Journey Groups: Jr. High & Adults

  • Journey Kids: Pre-K Storybook Groups; Birth-PreKindergarten

  • The Jesus Storybook Bible will be our primary curriculum. Each week, they will watch, listen, and creatively interact with the chronological story of Scripture; seeing how every story whispers the name of Jesus.

  • Journey Kids: THE 312 HANGOUT; 1st - 6th Grade

  • The 312 Hangout is for Kids 1st-6th Grade whose parents and siblings have Journey groups during adult Journey Group time. We want to provide an engaging area for them to continue building community.
