+ First time?

If it is your first time bringing your child to Journey Kids, don’t worry - we will be there to help you along the way. All you have to do is head to either lobby and find any volunteer with a name tag, and we will get you on your way!

To check your child in, we’ll need some information at that time including a parent/guardian’s name, your child's name and birthday, your address, your phone number, and any special instructions. This information is solely as a means of safety for your child. We'll be there every step of the way, right up to when you drop your kids off at the appropriate room, so feel free to ask questions!

+ Why kids ministry?

  • Build community with their peers

Elementary:

Large Group

  • Participate in kid-friendly active worship

  • Engage with scripture in creative and interactive ways

Small Group

  • Build community with their peers and leaders

+ How does Journey Kids ensure my kid is safe and secure?

At Journey, safety is one of our highest priorities. Upon check-in, you'll receive matching identification stickers. Your child will need to wear their name tag sticker, and you will need to keep the matching tag. After the service, you'll show the Journey Kids leader your matching tag in order for your child to be released from their room. Every volunteer leader and security team member is screened, participates in a background check, and receives appropriate training. In the event that we need to contact you during the service, we will send you a text message.

+ I have a child with specific needs and/or allergies. Is there anything I should know before I take my kid to Journey Kids?

If you have a child with allergies or has specific needs please include that information on the check-in registration and inform all Journey Kids volunteers in direct proximity to your child’s care. Our goal is to make every child and parent/guardian safe and comfortable.

Here are some practical ways that each week you can help us make the most of your child’s time at church:

  • Pick a consistent service time to help your kids build a consistent relationship with their Small Group leader and other kids their age.

  • Spend consistent time in scripture with your children and allow them to see you engage in scripture regularly. A simple place to start would be with the weekly scripture via our WonderInk Curriculum here.

  • Grow in your faith and build relationships with other Journey members by getting involved in a Journey Group here.

  • Pray for your children each week as they come to church, and pray for our teams as they serve and care for your kids.
