+What Is The Mission of Journey Church’s College Ministry?
Our mission is to invest in the faith journeys of young adults and equip them to not only be disciples but make disciples by getting closer, growing deeper, and going further for the gospel.
+What is the history of Journey Church’s College Ministry?
In so many ways, Journey Church was built on college students and their faith. Not only did the ministry begin as a college ministry, but it was also housed on Arkansas State’s campus for a few years before becoming the Journey we know today. For this reason, college ministry at Journey will always be an integral part of our church body.
With both weekly and monthly events focused on fellowship, scripture study, and worship, Journey College strives to help young adults and college students get closer, grow deeper, and go further. Each event looks a little different, but they all center on what it means to be the church and make disciples.
+Is this just another Journey Group?
Yes and No! While our college ministry includes a college and young adults Journey Group every Tuesday night at 6pm on our campus, we also host monthly fellowship and/or worship events. Additionally, just because our college students attend the college Journey Group does not mean that they are not encouraged to participate in multigenerational Journey Groups to connect them further to the body!
+How Does Journey Church Engage with College Students?
Every year, Journey Church serves Arkansas State’s incoming students by serving on Move-in Day with other churches in the community. We believe that this transition for college students can be one of the most daunting and overwhelming transitions in their lives and we seek to make them feel seen and known. Without a church home, many college students do not continue in their individual walks of faith. By meeting students on campus, we hope to stand in the gap and support them as they are being disciples and making disciples.
We believe that college students are uniquely called and gifted to serve the body and the kingdom. Because of this, we encourage and support college students to serve in ministry areas that fit those unique callings. If you are a college student interested in serving at Journey, click here.
